Steven Paul Riddle and Barbara A.G. Riddle have joined Debbie Raia and Gordon Graff at the UpFront Exhibition Space as Managing Directors. Steven is an award winning artist as well as a former business banker and Barbara is an artist and as well as an experienced gallery development professional. They have operated two previous galleries; Studio Sfumato, an art studio and gallery for developmentally disabled outsider artists and owners of Studio Chi Rho, a successful event driven art gallery in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Steven said, "We feel honored to participate with Debbie and Gordon in the continued success of UpFront, the areas premier art gallery." Debbie and Gordon who in addition to owning the Twenty Seven Gallery located on Front Street, are tireless leaders in the effort to make downtown Port Jervis a vibrant shopping and cultural district" Join Debbie and Gordon in welcoming Steven and Barbara at UpFront's next show, Saturday August 8th between 5pm and 9pm.

UpFront Exhibition Space is a full service Contemporary Art Gallery and Event Space designed by Gordon Graff, who creates original and exciting found object art and Debbie Raia a leader in the downtown development effort, as a top notch venue for emerging artists to exhibit their work. Art collectors and art appreciators alike can enjoy monthly events always featuring outstanding art, culinary delights, Mellissa merlot, exciting music, and unique entertainment.

Mousetraps & Martini's

Artist Angelo Marfisi was supposed to set of his mousetrap art at the June 13th Artists Reception. Due to a shoulder operation we had to change the date to July 11th where he will set off all the traps simultaneously. Come join the fun and have a Martini!

Friends of Port Jervis Library

On Friday, April 24, 2009 from 6 – 8 pm at the UpFront Gallery
the Friends of the Port Jervis Free Library will host an evening of art, wine, hors d’oeuvers and dessert to celebrate the 80th birthday of Chris Farlekas.

Chris, President of the Port Jervis Free Library, writer, advocate of the arts is a Port Jervis native and a true community treasure.

Tickets are $15.00 each and all proceeds will honor Chris in benefiting projects of the Friends of the Port Jervis Free Library.

Tickets can be obtained at the Gazette Office at 158 Pike St. Port Jervis, NY 12771 or at Gillinder Glass, 39 Erie Street, Port Jervis NY.

Pike County Humane Society Fundraiser May 16th

Wine, cheese, & a nice afternoon of artwork, all for a good cause.

Silent Auction with proceeds going to the needy animals at the Pike County Humane Society, for a 1906 lifetime etching by Renoir! "Femme nue assise" is beautifully matted and framed, truly an awesome piece.
*(Bidding will open with a $4000 bid, Certificate of Authenticity and Appraisal showing value est. of $13,495.00 are included. What an opportunity to own a Master Artist's work!)
